Lordship Hub has been awarded £17,000 grant funding by the National Lottery to strengthen our work with the local community.
The money will help pay for a year long community engagement project called “Lordship Hub for Everyone” starting from March 2026.
Lordship Hub for Everyone will strengthen community life in Tottenham by providing inclusive events, improved facilities, and dedicated outreach activities that bring people together, reduce isolation, and give local people a real voice in shaping their community hub.
The Hub community-run cooperative has been running for more than 10 years providing space for local classes, community events, volunteering, park café and vital local services such as public toilets, a foodbank and free hot meals.
This funding will allow us to take the Hub to the next stage by allowing us to employ an additional member of staff and run more targeted outreach, especially with groups who are often excluded, such as older residents, disabled people, young people and those struggling with the cost of living.
Our plan is to run inclusive events, activities and volunteering opportunities designed to bring people together and give local people more opportunities to shape what the Hub offers.
We want Hub users and community members to be involved with every stage of the Lordship Hub for Everyone project: creating and planning events, volunteering to run events, and helping us evaluate what works best for the community.
There are a few different ways to get involved:
Lordship Hub is rooted in its local community. We are a cooperative with a volunteer board made up of local members, and many of our activities are delivered by volunteers.
Our position in the centre of the park means we are a natural meeting place for people across Tottenham’s diverse neighbourhoods. We partner with the park’s friends group, providing them with storage and meeting space, as well as co-producing community events and volunteering opportunities.
We regularly involve the community in shaping our work. We run online surveys to gather useful feedback. Our Annual General Meeting for cooperative members in April 2025 included an open public discussion based on survey results, helping us prioritise future activities.
We also hold regular member meet-ups and run three working groups, including one focused on membership and community engagement. Local residents help co-design and volunteer at our family and community activities/events – ensuring they reflect what people want and need.
