Haringey Walking Fair
Saturday May 6th, 1-5pm at the Hub, Lordship Rec
FREE EVENT. All about walking: a fantastic form of healthy exercise for mind and body. Walks and Talks (see below) and Stalls and Activities
Information stalls about walking groups in and around Haringey, Nordic Walking training (1-3pm) and other exercise sessions plus Xplorer Orienteering Activity for Children (2-4pm). Free Health Checks by One You Haringey.
Illustrated Talks on walk related activities
1.00pm Gina Bradbury Fox gives a talk entitled, Julia Bradbury & The Outdoor Guide – The Story So Far, featuring the fantastic website about walks, walking holidays and activities shared by Julia Bradbury, (Country File and Best Walks on TV)
2.00pm Morag Rose from Loiterers Resistance Movment (LRM), a manchester-based collective of artists and activists organising walks to highlight the interest of their locality
3.00pm Jeremy Leach from 20’s Plenty for Us, talking about making our streets safer and more attractive for walking
4.00pm Joyce Rosser talk on Following the Trail of the Moselle, Haringey’s Hidden River that surfaces in Lordship Rec.
Two guided morning walks will converge on Lordship Rec in time for the event. One meets at the TV tower at Alexandra Palace at 11am taking in parks, conservation areas and listed buildings and the other meets at 11.30am at White Hart Lane Station and follows the route of the Moselle to Lordship Rec.
