RiverFest and Harvest Festival Saturday 16th

On Saturday, 16th September, we have two festivals going in the Hub and the Rec!

The Tottenham Ploughman Riverfest (funded by you – thanks) is running from 11am-7pm.

The 10th Tottenham Flower and Produce Show and Harvest Festival (run by the Friends and Women’s Association – thanks) is running from 11am-6pm. If you want to enter your flowers of produce in the competition bring them between 8.30 and 11am.

Both events are always massive and hugely enjoyable, so having them both together will be double the fun!

Full details:

See you there.

Love the Hub

A very fond farewell

This time next week I will have just arrived at my new home in Malawi, which of course means that I won’t be at the Hub anymore. It will be one of the things I miss most about Tottenham. I have loved being part of establishing it and seeing the impact it has had in our community. The way it has brought people together has been fantastic and I never cease to be impressed by the huge love, effort and passion that so many people put into making it a success.

Making it a success is an ongoing struggle though and the Hub needs support from all of you reading this.  As yet we still do not have a Treasurer, so if you have any financial nous, or know anyone who does (they don’t have to be a Hub member) please do ask them to email me for more info: [email protected]

I want to extend huge thanks to everyone I’ve worked with establishing the Hub, and to those who are taking over from me. Albertina is going to be the Secretary and Tom is going to be the Web Manager.

Tom’s holiday and my leaving the country unfortunately coincide, so this will very likely be the last newsletter of the Summer and Tom will start it up again in September.

Cafe volunteers needed

As the summer holidays start many of our dedicated, fantastic volunteers go away and it it’s really difficult to run the Hub without them!

If you have time over the summer, helping in the cafe is a fantastic way to both meet your community and support the Hub. Volunteers just do 4 hour shifts, always supported by regular members of staff. There are slots between 9am and 6pm every day of the week. So whenever you might be available, please email [email protected] or call her on 020 8885 5684 to see how you can help.

Volunteering in the Hub cafe was a brilliant thing to do a few hours a week over summer. Everyone comes to the Hub so I saw so many Tottenham friends I hadn’t seen in ages; they’d just popped in for a cup of tea and were a bit surprised it was me serving them!

Birthday fun at the Hub

Thanks to all those who came along to help the Hub celebrate its third birthday last weekend.

The dancing went on it to the night …
